FTS Channel Management Instructions

The FTS channels for AGLT2 and be managed using the glite software. You will need an ATLAS VOMS production role (voms-proxy-init -voms atlas:/atlas/Role=production) to be able to issue these commands. Also you need to have the glite tools in your path.

  • To stop transfers in FTS:
glite-transfer-channel-set -s https://fts02.usatlas.bnl.gov:8443/glite-data-transfer-fts/services/ChannelManagement CHANNEL-NAME -S InActive

For AGLT2 this means we need to set the following two channels:

glite-transfer-channel-set -s https://fts02.usatlas.bnl.gov:8443/glite-data-transfer-fts/services/ChannelManagement HEAD01AGLT2-BNLDCACHE -S InActive

and

glite-transfer-channel-set -s https://fts02.usatlas.bnl.gov:8443/glite-data-transfer-fts/services/ChannelManagement BNLDCACHE-HEAD01AGLT2 -S InActive

  • To re-enable the channel replace InActive with Active in the above commands.

If there are other channels for AGLT2 they will also need to be managed in this way.

You can view channel information using the -s https://fts02.usatlas.bnl.gov:8443/glite-data-transfer-fts/services/ChannelManagement for commands glite-transfer-channel-list and glite-transfer-channel-listmanagers.
